Union Square BID - Public Realm Action Plan
DESCRIPTION
The Union Square Business Improvement District is one of the most visited areas in the City of San Francisco, home not only to the landmark Union Square but also landmark retailers, galleries, and hotels. As part of ongoing leadership of the BID’s Streetscape Committee, RHAA developed a Public Realm Action Plan for the Union Square Business Improvement District. The Action Plan serves as a single source guide for public realm improvements that aim to activate and beautify the district, while building its sense of place and identity. The action plan articulates over-arching design principles for the district,  documents existing conditions, encapsulates existing and ongoing projects, identifies potential future projects, and lays out next steps for implementation. The action plan is a living design manual for the district that can be updated on a regular basis as projects are initiated, studies completed, or changes occur in the district.
